FENG SHUI
Feng shui is an ancient discipline that originated in China approximately
3,500 years ago. The term feng shui is literally translated as wind
and water, and refers to these forces of nature as currents of energy
that form the physical landscape. Within this system the natural forces
in our environment, both the seen and the unseen, are considered to
either foster well being or bring misfortune and obstacles. When we
harness favorable energies through changes in orientation, location
or placement, our health, vitality and prosperity will flourish.
In the feng shui assessment specific systems of evaluation and correlation
are employed to make recommendations that will tangibly improve the
quality of life within a given space. Factors such as the orientation
of the building or site, the physical factors and surrounding environment,
people, and time are taken into account to create an accurate analysis.
Practical applications of feng shui may include:
selecting
a prosperous site for construction
determining
the most favorable orientation of a structure for prosperity
choosing
the most favorable dwelling or workplace within a multi-unit structure
space
planning to maximize human harmony and prosperity
placement
of furniture and decorative objects
selection
of rooms for specific individuals
interior
and exterior color schemes
energy
activation and modification
You dont have to be familiar with Chinese culture or subscribe
to a belief system that is strange to you to appreciate the benefits
of feng shui.
CLASSIC FENG SHUI
In authentic Chinese feng shui two systems are widely used. The Flying
Star Method takes into account the time dimension as well as directional
influences. A more static approach incorporates the study of landforms,
directions, water flow and includes the discipline known as Eight
Mansions Feng Shui.
FLYING STAR FENG SHUI
The Flying Star method of evaluation employs the use of a precise
compass reading and a numerical chart that is based on a buildings
year of construction or move-in date. This method is one of the most
accurate methods of determining the suitability of locations for specific
types of activity, as well as highlighting the need, if any, for corrections
or enhancements. The Flying Star method serves as the foundation for
the feng shui assessments provided by Feng Shui Design, Inc.
EIGHT MANSIONS FENG SHUI
The Eight Mansions approach has been widely applied in feng shui throughout
the Orient for centuries. More recently it has found great resonance
in the Western world. This is in part due to the fact that this system
is both easy to grasp and at the same time very practical. Under the
Eight Mansions system we evaluate the main entrance direction, location
and orientation, and the birth date of the person under consideration
to determine auspicious and inauspicious energies within a built environment.
The Eight Mansions method is especially applicable to placement of
workstations and executive offices with the intent of maximizing productivity
and financial success.
CHINESE ASTROLOGY AND DESTINY ANALYSIS
Good feng shui is only one part of the equation. Destiny plays a great
role in the Chinese understanding of the universe, as does our education
and virtue.
The system of astrology and destiny analysis employed by the Chinese
is called the Four Pillars of Destiny. It is a technique that analyzes
human fortune based on birth data: the year, month, day and hour of
birth, each resulting in one of the Four Pillars. This system allows
us to view cycles of fortune as our lives unfold, and reveals insights
into human nature, in-born personality traits, career potential, relationships,
marriage prospects, and health.
In both our personal and professional lives the
information provided by a Four Pillars of Destiny analysis is invaluable
when changing jobs, selecting a business partner, choosing a career
direction, appointing key personnel, making investment decisions and
in conflict resolution. The information provided in the destiny analysis
is also helpful to the implementation of the feng shui assessment.
